P and Q represent numbers, and P * Q means \(\dfrac{\left(P+Q\right)}{2}\).What is the value of 3 * (6 * 8)?
As per the order of operations, parentheses are executed first.
So 6 * 8 = \(\dfrac{\left(6+8\right)}{2}\)
= \(\dfrac{14}{2}\) = 7
Then 3 * 7 = \(\dfrac{\left(3+7\right)}{2}\)
= \(\dfrac{10}{2}\) = 5
Hence 3 * (6 * 8) = 5
